Do business your way

I’ve come to realize that I am not the type to reach out to people or cold call/email to gain business. To be honest, all of my clients have come to me on their own or word to mouth. Now I understand not every business works this way and waiting on someone to come to you can seem stagnant but it all depends.

The first time I actually launched my business back in 2019, I gained 6 clients that month. It was overwhelming because I wasn’t expecting that many people to reach out but also I just wasn’t ready mentally. Now 6 clients doesn’t seem like much but it was a whole lot for someone who just started a business.

Right now I have a couple people who would like to work with me but it’s not set in stone yet. This time around I am ready to gain as many clients as possible. I’ve got my contracts ready to be signed, I already know what type of questions to ask my clients so I can begin my tasks, and I know how to properly communicate at all times especially If things go left.

I’ve already been through a couple situations that made me upset and also things that I learned not to do again. It’s all part of the process and I am grateful for all the experiences, truly. But one thing I’ve tried to do and it does not work in my favor is force my business on someone. It’s not because I think I’m too good to reach out and I do understand closed mouths don’t get fed but it doesn’t feel genuine to me.

Anything I’ve bought or anyone who’s had a service I was interested In is because I found them and I wanted to make the purchase. I’ve had people reach out to me and I always check it out because you never know but it always felt forced.

I think it’s important to realize the type of business you’re running in order to align with the audience you desire. Being clear in what your message is and the benefits of your product/services . Once you understand how you operate and what feels right to you that’s when the energy flows and your business flourishes on its own. This doesn’t mean don’t reach out to people because that may work in your favor but more understand what works best for you.

Also don’t feel like you’re doing nothing if people don’t come to you because people are always watching and I learned this recently. I may feel like when I post nobody cares but someone is making note of what you’re doing and you never know when they’ll be ready to reach out. Point is, do what makes you feel good and don’t follow someone else’s business strategy because it may not be what you need. Fin.
