How Do I Get My First Client?

Getting your first client seems impossible until you actually do it. Then you notice, “Oh it wasn’t that hard after all. I can do that again.” Then you do. Again, and again, and again, and again.

So how do you do it and keep doing it consistently?

Short answer, you get to know your business. Long answer, take a walk with me.

The easiest way is to look at what problem you’re solving for others. You then write out the names of everyone you know that may need your services. “What if I can’t think of no one?” Great, go to the next step. If you have some names, reach out to them and tell them how your service can solve their problem and let them decide if they want it. No pressure, no attachment, if no one buys great you’re already learning what not to say.

Next, go into social media or any community groups online where there’s a bunch of strangers and tell them about a problem you solve and how your service can fix it. Watch what people respond with and if you get crickets, keep playing with the wording this will help you know exactly what buzz words to use to get people to take action.

You do need to tell them what to do. So if they’re interested tell them to reply back to you, write out a word, DM you, email you, go to link, you get the point. Take them to a place where they can raise their hand and say “I want to try your services.”

Another thing I’ve seen many new service based business owners do is only post their services once maybe twice a week and that’s it. “But I don’t want to seem salesy.” Really? You don’t? Cool, well continue speaking about services once or twice a week and see how long it takes for you to get a client.

You need to be telling people about your services: EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Even on the weekends? Does the mall open on the weekends? YESSSS! It doesn’t have to be a post or video every day but someone should be able to see content you created every day. You never know who’s lurking around on the weekend and stumbles across your page.

This is obviously a very general question and I can continue writing on and on and on but you were looking how to get your FIRST client and that’s enough to get you going.

Now if you’re looking to get your first and consistently grow your client base as time progresses then I will suggest getting a business identity.

“What’s a business identity?” Well its like a brand identity except we’re going deeper; past branding, entering marketing, and into your mindset.

“What in the world are you talking about?” A business identity is your branding, marketing, and mindset all in one to create the secret sauce you think you’re going to find on Google. This is how you grow your client base and have consistent clients all the time.

While you’re living your life in your own terms because this is YOUR business and you created this business for freedom, to do what you want when you want and not hold you down, tied to a job.

Now if this is something more up your alley. You’re more than welcome to fill out your information below and I will reach out to you with more details. (This is where you raise your hand for my services. See how easy that was? I can teach you to do the same.)
